Welcome to the TempStars Community! Temping with TempStars allows you the freedom to thrive in your career by picking the shifts you want, at the rate you want. You get to choose how much you want to work or how little!
7 Things you should do and know before your first shift!
We send real time notifications about your offers, your shifts, and your in-app messages! So it's important to have the Mobile App downloaded so you stay up-to-date on your shifts!
When in your app, you will see green calendar dates - those indicate shifts that are available to you! When you see a shift you like, you can select your desired hourly rate and send in an offer. When you send an offer, the practice will be able to view your profile and your requested hourly rate for their shift. Quick tip: be sure to upload a great resume right away so you can put your best foot forward and get booked in for shifts!
Most offices won't accept an offer without viewing a resume first. Your offer is live for 18h and the it expires (an offer cannot accept it once it has expired). You can remove an Active offer at any point!
As soon as one of your offers is accepted you will be sent a notification and a confirmation email.
We believe in a two-sided market place and don't ever dictate hourly rates. Our system is set up so that when office's post a shift they can "Recommend" a rate they think is fair for the shift. You see this recommendation in the Rate Scroller when creating your offer, but have the freedom still to chose a different rate is you desire!
We have completed tens of thousands of temping shifts and our members say these are the tips that help set them up for a great day of temping!
- Show up 15minutes early to your shift. This will give you time to change, introduce yourself, and make sure you feel ready to start your day!
- If you’re unsure, ask! You’re walking into a new office, you can’t be expected to know where everything is. The office staff want you to have a great day too so don’t be afraid to ask any questions.
- Invoice accurately for your shift. If you accidentally put in the wrong hours or don’t deduct your lunch, it may delay getting your payment to you.
It is important to you therefore it is important to us! We want to make sure you get paid when you expect to. When you are viewing shifts you can view the Payment Terms of that specific shift, which tells you exactly when you can expect payment to arrive. Check out this article to read details!
Offices typically pay 1 of 3 ways:
- Electronic Transfer
- Pay Now
Pro tip: Be sure to invoice right away to avoid any payment delays!
It’s a great idea to show up a little early to speak with the office manager or owner to ask how you’re getting paid. That way, you can leave any necessary information with them.
When a shift is booked, you can click on the shift and will see a button called "View/Send Messages" from there you can directly message the office to ask any questions you may have about the shift!
The office you work at is responsible for paying you directly. After you have completed your shift you can click on the shift and click "Mark as Completed" (or the system will do this automatically overnight) the system will then prompt you to rate the office and create an invoice for the shift (if the system manually completes your shift, you will see this prompt the next time you login). When you send an invoice through our app you will be emailed a copy (keep this for your records) and the office will be emailed a copy at which point they can start getting your payment ready!
