In-App Messenger Chat Feature
TempStars provides an in-app Messenger Chat feature to facilitate essential communication between dental professionals (talent) and dental offices. This feature should be used judiciously and only for relaying important information about upcoming shifts.
Accessing and Using the Chat Feature

Open the Chat:
- Navigate to your booked shift in the app.
- Click on the shift details.
- Select the "Chat/Message" option.

Send a Message:
- Type your message in the chat box.
- Click "Send" to transmit your message.

Unread Message Indicator:
- A small red dot will appear on the shift date in your calendar if you have unread messages.
Important Communication Guidelines
Pre-Shift Communication
- Use the chat feature for essential information only.
- Avoid discussing cancellations, time changes, or hourly rate adjustments through chat.
Last-Minute Communication
- Two hours before the shift starts, dental offices can view your phone number for urgent communications.
- You can access the office's phone number by viewing the shift details.
Reporting Inappropriate Use
If a dental office attempts to cancel a shift through the chat feature:
- Click the "Report" button within the chat.
- This action will notify TempStars, allowing us to follow up with the office directly.
Shift Cancellation Protocol
- If you need to cancel a shift, use the "Cancel Shift" button on the shift details page.
- Do not attempt to cancel shifts through the chat feature.
- Please note: Failure to follow cancellation policies may result in account restrictions or removal.
