📋 BEFORE THE SHIFT
â– Confirm the shift with your temp via TempStars Messages In-App
â– Prepare login credentials (practice management, charting, x-ray software)
■Test every login — don't wait until morning!

â– Review the schedule and patient needs
â– Notify your team that a temp will be joining
â– Assign a team member to welcome and orient the temp
👋 ON THE DAY OF THE SHIFT:
Morning Of:
■Set up workspace — clean, organized, proper lighting
â– Test software logins one more time
â– Stock PPE in multiple sizes (gloves, masks, goggles, jackets)
â– Verify instruments are clean, sharp, and with sufficient rotation sets
â– Check equipment functionality (chairs, lights, sterilization)
â– Accommodate left/right-handed setup if needed
â– Prepare welcome materials
At Arrival:
■Greet warmly by name — they are expected and valued
â– Provide office tour (bathroom, break room, supplies, sterilization)
â– Introduce to every team member they'll work with
â– Include in the morning team huddle
â– Review the cheat sheet together
â– Show them their workspace and supplies
â– Provide login credentials
â– Clarify day's expectations, schedule, and patient types
â– Discuss break arrangements and lunch plans
During Shift:
■Check in periodically — not just when something goes wrong
â– Be available and approachable for questions
â– Offer constructive feedback professionally and kindly
■Integrate temp into the team — never isolate them
After Shift:
â– Approve invoice promptly via the TempStars app OR make sure all necessary information for payment is collected if paying by cheque, direct deposit, EFT, payroll, etc.
