As North America's Largest and #1 Rated dental temping and hiring service, TempStars understands the critical importance of ensuring that you're booking properly qualified hygienists and assistants for your practice. This guide will walk you through the credential verification process and your responsibilities as a dental office.
TempStars' Verification Process
At TempStars, we take the following steps to help ensure the qualifications of our members:
- Initial Verification: We conduct diligent good faith efforts to verify that hygienists are licensed and "Active" with the provincial or state licensing body at the time of registration and when their first shift is booked.
- Periodic Checks: We periodically check to ensure that their status remains valid.
However, it's important to note that with thousands of hygienist members across North America, it's not feasible for TempStars to verify and update the status of every hygienist and assistant every day.
Dental Office Responsibilities
As the employment relationship exists between the booking office and the booked hygienist or assistant, and TempStars does not act as an agency representing any parties, it is ultimately the responsibility of the dental office to verify valid qualifications and licensing credentials. Please review Section 18 of TempStars' Terms of Service for clarification.
Information Provided by TempStars
When a shift is booked, you are provided with the following information about the hygienist:
- Year of graduation
- Dental hygiene training institution
- License number
Verification Process for Dental Offices
To ensure you're working with qualified professionals, follow these steps:
- Review Offer Details: When you receive an offer from a temp to work a shift, review their resume to check their experience and skills.
- Check Credentials: Use the provided license number to verify their status on the provincial or state licensing body's website.
- On-site Verification: Every dental hygienist is advised to bring a copy of their license to the shift. Verify this documentation before the shift starts.
- Consider Star Ratings: Our hygienist & assistant members establish a "star rating" based directly on feedback from other dental offices. Take this into account when making your decision.
