Occasionally an office has a change in their patient schedule and will wish to change the hours of the temping shift. If this is the case, here is what to do!
Please Note: Any changes to the "POSTED" shift hours must be done from within the TempStars app/website a day before ( >24 business hours) the shift ARRIVAL TIME.
1. Tap the shift date on the TempStars calendar and then tap "Modify Shift Hours". This will immediately alert the booked hygienist/assistant to the change.
2. The shift details shown in the TempStars system is when they should "Arrive" at your office and those times are the ones that apply to billable hours.
You will be notified via email and through text notifications (make sure you have the TempStars app installed) and this also notifies the temp of the change.
By changing the shift times, you are alerting the original agreement and if the booked hygienist/assistant can’t accommodate the new hours, they have a right to Cancel the Shift.
Here's what happens after completing the modification:
**More than 24 hours notice given:**
- If the temp agrees to the new hours, then the shift will be invoiced as such with the new hours.
- If the temp decides the new hour will not work for them but still wants to fulfill the original shift, then the temp will keep the shift and will invoice from the original posted ARRIVAL time.

If you are firm on the new hours, but the temp cannot accommodate those hours then we will cancel the shift from the temp end so they can find a replacement shift.
- No penalty will apply to the temp for the cancellation in this situation.
**Less than 24 hours notice of the posted Arrival Time:**
- If you are firm on the new hours, and it's less than 24 hours from the start of the shift and the temp cannot accommodate the new hours, then we will cancel the shift from your end.
- If they can not find a replacement shift on short notice then due to the shortened shift hours you are required to compensate according to our Short Notice Cancellation Policy
