By an Office:
A booked and confirmed shift - if your office cancels less than 24hrs of the Arrival Time
- We will try to find a replacement shift for the hygienist/assistant. If we are successful, there is no short-notice cancellation fee to the office.
- If we are unsuccessful, we will process a payment to compensate 50% of booked shift hours (-30min lunch) that gets directly sent to the hygienist/assistant.

As outlined and agreed in our Terms and Service, we process payments for hygienist and assistant invoices when they are beyond the agreed-upon payment terms, as posted by your office for the shift.
Of course, we add a little grace period to the payment terms in case payment is in transit. This provides assurance to TempStars members that they will be paid as agreed when they offer to work one of your shifts.
In turn, this assurance allows us to continue to keep and grow the largest pool of available temp hygienists and assistants of any service in Canada, to better serve your office in the future.
We process your credit card information and payments through Stripe Canada, the world leader in online credit card authorization.
Your credit card information is encrypted using bank-level security, meaning even our site administrators never have access to your information.
It gets encrypted and sent directly to Stripe Canada. Even the owners of TempStars can’t view your credit card details due to the strong encryption used.
TempStars doesn’t dictate hourly rates at all, although we do provide feedback to those that are submitting offers outside of the normal range. Hygienist's and assistant's hourly rate range is based on the years of experience they have in the industry.

If there’s any offer that’s above your office’s budget for an offered hourly rate, simply decline the offer and put “Hourly Rate Above Budget” as the reason why - the system will prompt you to enter an acceptable hourly rate for the offer.
The offering hygienist/assistant has then forwarded the feedback and encouraged you to re-submit their offer at your specified rate if it’s acceptable.
And just to hopefully further clarify, one of the reasons that TempStars has the largest pool of available hygienists and assistants (by far!) and a reputation for easily and consistently filling temping shifts, is that hygienists and assistants set their own hourly rates, specifically for each offer.
