With the new Covid-19 guidelines in place by the Government of Ontario, our team has been discussing how to handle reports of symptoms, cancellations, etc. within the province of Ontario. As always, our entire team's first commitment is to do everything we can to provide a service where dental hygienists, assistants, dental office owners, managers and patients are connected with each other in as safe a manner as possible.
So for the time being, our policy about COVID is going to be:
If you need to cancel a booked shift because of COVID-related issues, flu-like symptoms, illness, exposure, positive test results, etc. then we'll cancel any shifts you have booked for the coming 10 days and place a temporary flag on your account which prevents booking additional shifts for those 10 days.
Members won't be penalized for cancelling due to COVID-related issues, and cancellations due to COVID-related issues won't count against your account, profile or statistics. It's a safety measure that we're putting in place for the time being until we can better assess and get a handle on the situation.
_____
We understand that the Government's guidelines have different isolation times based on vaccination status, however with the tools and information we currently have the best way we can protect our entire membership is by implementing a 10 day block for anyone (regardless of vaccination status) from when they notify us of their symptoms. We have the responsibility to err on the side of caution right now as things with Covid are constantly changing.
However, with everything we do - this policy very likely will change as we get new information and discover more efficient ways to adapt and optimize how we handle the situation.
As always, if you have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
